Statistics: T-test: Testing hypotheses – #29444

Question: An Evil Genius is trying to develop an army of flying monkeys. Don’t ask why. She would like the Monkeys to be around 250 lbs. with a wingspan of 8’.

The Evil Genius tries another variety, Type B. A sample of size 40 had an average wingspan of 8.2’ with a standard deviation of .4’. Refer to Problem 2. Does this give good evidence that a difference in mean wingspan exists between variety A and B? Assume population variances are different.
