Statistics: Testing Statistical Hypothesis – #29442

Question: An Evil Genius is trying to develop an army of flying monkeys. Don’t ask why. She would like the Monkeys to be around 250 lbs. with a wingspan of 8’.

The standard deviation of wingspan should be less than .25’. The sample of size 40 Type A monkeys had a sample mean wingspan of 7.5’ with a standard deviation of .6’. Does this give good evidence that that the standard deviation of monkeys is not what it should be?
